VIJAY ?THAKKATH? KI DAVA ADHE SAKKATH!
Posted date: 23/May/2009

It is not a clean sweep from the cleaner Basya played by Vijay in this film. He has to show the ‘Thakkath’ that is power! That is the call of the box office and director has to maintain it to fill the coffers.

Director MS Ramesh has not given a routine action masala film with Vijay shoulder power as a big asset. He has showed the significance of care in this film, made the characters to repent for the mistake of the past, showed how strong is love, loyalty is at its peak, the importance of education he stresses in his own style – what else you require with dance, song and action ‘Hotte Thumba’ added to it. MS Ramesh has got the pulse of Vijay fans first and then added some elements to make this one a mass entertainer with some concern.

Although ‘Thakkath’ ki dhava for box office is Vijay action scenes there is some quick narration and expected ending in the film.

A cleaner in the Madheshwar transport bus is innocent. He has brought up in life by driver and conductor of the bus. No education but good behavior and kind heartedness is his asset. Such an innocent Basya is liked by Bhagya (Shuba Punja). The gut feeling of Basya so strong that he can take on anything and knows how to sail against the wind. The father and uncle of Bhagya are terror in the village. They know that Bhagya is in love with Basya and torture treatment starts. Basya also gives back but says he was not in love so long but from this point of time he will love Bhagya. Do whatever you can he says. That is interval.

The post interval is having deadly fights. In the real life such bash up is done hundreds of bodies had to be carried to the cremation!

In the marriage hall Basya beaten in the battle begs to everyone to stop all this and give his Bhagya to him. That happens.

Vijay has given a stunning performance once again. You would feel that this man can fight and put down anyone like how you used to think for Tiger Prabhakar. In innocence Vijay is superb. In romance he is too good because he has got the dear one as heroine. Shuba Punj in one particular scene shows her capacity. Then it is easy going for this butter scotch!

Satyajith, Rangayana Raghu, Shobaraj, Sanketh Kashi, Mandya Ramesh, Nanda Kishore have all done their job very well. The dialogues are a treat for the front benchers.

There are three good tunes from Gurukiran. Bara Bara Jokumara….Kannambadi…..Dasara…..are well tuned, sung and captured. Dasari Seenu has seen to it every frame look good on the screen.

Not only action there is something more. Go watch this one.
